RSS Feeds

RSS feeds are a great way to connect and stay in touch with other bloggers. In the class room, each student who has a blog can be connected to the teacher so they can keep updated on any changes, also, teacher can monitor what is being posted. Another great use for the RSS feeds is that you can subscribe to news that is related to your subject matter.

Online Image Generator

I love this online image generator. What a great way for students to blend art with poetry. See my example with the Poetry Blender. I searched flicker for pictures that went along with a Haiku poem by A. Knight that I found online. The Poetry Blender fits perfect with Haiku poems. Students can pic a picture that best expresses each line of the poem and then post it online.

More fun with Flickr

Besides taking pictures of your students artwork and posting them on your blog through flickr, flickr can be used as a fun art assignment. Students will be able to use flickr to spell out words like their name or favorite fook. See sample at bottom of this website.

Flickr in art classrooms

One way that Flickr can be used in art classrooms is by using it to post pictures of your student's art work. The teacher can then give the URL to the parents and other family members of the student so they can all see the progress of their child and give the student praise without having to be in the same city, state, or country. This is great for students that are new to this country and wish to share their work with family members back in their home country.
