Wiki

I find the wiki concept interesting. I like its use for joint efforts in sharing information like librarys or between friends like the video showed for camping trip. It is practical in that sense. However, I can understand why many teachers "ban" Wikipedia as a source for student research. Because anyone can edit and add or change information there is no sure way to know its accuracy or if the information added is plagerism. I think if a teacher allows a student to use wiki materials as part of their source information to view it as opinions and not as facts. I would also have them search to see if the wiki site is secure. I noted that on some of the subjects in wikipedia now have security locks so not everyone can make changes. I did find one that was open and had my "fun" on the Recreation page. So if you go to wikipedia and search for recreation and see that "Painting" is added to the list of activies one can do for fun, he he.. I be the one to add that! After all... Art is Fun!
